Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max at the Wonderlust event. These new flagship phones from Apple bring numerous small and significant changes, marking some of the most important releases from the company in at least the past three years.
Apple’s advanced iPhone models, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, are equipped with titanium bodies, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2, which also feature a dedicated action button, replacing the Meowth scroll strip. Apple claims that the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the most powerful phones in its history.
According to Apple’s press release, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus) feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays, respectively. These displays differ from the standard Super Retina XDR displays with a 120Hz refresh rate (ProMotion technology).

The central processing unit (CPU) of the new Apple chip is 10% more powerful than the previous generation, thanks to its precise design and improved architecture. The Neural Engine shows up to double the performance. This specialized chip is used for functions such as automatic text or personal voice correction (in iOS 17).

Both of Apple’s new phones are equipped with the second generation of the Ultra Wideband chip to significantly improve precise location tracking. Thanks to this change, iPhones can record location with high accuracy even in densely populated areas. The new Apple iPhone devices support Wi-Fi 6E and the Qi2 wireless charging standard.
Last year, Apple equipped the iPhone with satellite communication systems. This system has been updated in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with a satellite-assisted roadside assistance service.
From now on, American iPhone users facing road issues and unable to access Wi-Fi or cellular networks can report via satellite to AAA, the largest roadside assistance company in the United States. Satellite-assisted roadside assistance will be free for two years.
The starting price for the iPhone 15 Pro in the base configuration (with 128GB of storage) is $999, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max in the base configuration (with 256GB of storage) is $1199.
The pre-sale for the new Apple phones will begin on Friday. Apple announced the release date for the new iPhone devices as September 22, 2023.
